About Automotive Technology
After completion of this program, the student will receive a certificate of completion from Dallas County Technical Center. In addition, the student will have a better understanding of certifications offered by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Students may take up to eight ASE exams.

A fully skilled Automotive Technician must have good reading ability along with mathematics and computer skills. The diagnosis and repair of modern automobiles require technicians to follow instructions and diagrams located in paper and computer based technician manuals. This information, along with the understanding of how individual components work together, will be used to draw conclusions as to the correct diagnosis of vehicle problems.
